Description
Munster LCGN (Lesbian & Gay Community News) was a four page supplement to the Irish GCN (Gay Community News) newspaper. It was produced in The Other Place LGBT Resource Centre in Cork in the 1990s. It was a Wrap Around, placed on the outside, of GCN in Munster and was an insert in the newspaper in the rest of the country.
The March 1994 LGCN issue contains articles about: 'Prima! Donna' a year on from Donna McAnallen's dismissal from Brookfield Holiday Village for being a lesbian, 'Cloud Cuckooland revisited' a review of an article in the guardian discussing Donna's case, 'In the eye of the storm' discussing Fr Bernard Lynch's 6 day visit to Ireland, ' Suzy socks it to 'em at Law soc!', 'Queers on the quad', 'I wish I'd kissed Donna McAnallen' documenting a protest at Brookfield holiday village, Munster diary, and 'Gay taboo broken on Cork stage' and advertisement such as; Loafers bar, women's fun weekend, AIDS alliance Cork, Waterstones booksellers, the woodland gallery, the other place, Art Hive, Protect and Respect, and quay co-op.
